With the end of the year we made a partial assessment of these first months of the Orange and Blue Football School and Youth Agonistic Sector with the manager Clemente Longo. A journey born this summer, which began in September and is starting to bear its first fruits.
What is the balance of the Football School's activity so far?
The balance of the football school's activity to date highlights an important growth path, which stands out above all for its ability to build a unique and different learning environment compared to other realities. In particular, the entire youth sector has been able to quickly reabsorb the implementation of an innovative training model, which places the integration between technical skills and the construction of an inclusive culture at its core. The training proposal aims not only to develop the individual skills of young footballers, but also to promote shared values such as inclusiveness, community building and the production of sports policies that can be accessible to all.
Apart from technical teaching, what values do you want to convey to children?
As for the training of football players, the approach is structured to provide a support network made up of competent personnel, the overcoming of gradual "steps" and the continuous development of work cycles, which follow one another in a natural way, preparing them to face future challenges. The goal is to accompany each young athlete in their growth process, both technically and humanly. The values to be transmitted to children are fundamental for the creation of a healthy and inclusive sports culture. The intent is not only to teach football technique, but also to teach collaboration, mutual respect and the importance of an environment that promotes inclusion and solidarity. The football school wants to be a place where every boy or girl can feel part of a community, valuing every individuality, regardless of background or initial skills.
What should be the ideal profile of an Instructor to join Roma City FC?
As for the ideal profile of the instructor, it must go beyond simple passion and dedication. It must be a highly qualified figure, capable of effectively managing groups, communicating clearly and empathetically, and creating a positive atmosphere in which the kids can grow not only as footballers, but as people. The instructor is seen as a "skills builder", capable of transmitting not only technical and tactical notions, but also an educational methodology that stimulates constant improvement.
Let's end with the competitive one, what's your personal assessment of the teams here too?
On the competitive front, the primary objective is to train the resources for the first team at home, helping to create a supply chain that allows young talents to express their maximum potential. The biggest challenge is to be able to bring out the best in each individual athlete, increasing their technical, physical and mental abilities, so that they can arrive ready to give their contribution to the first team. The ambition is high: it is not just about training good footballers, but about creating a real sports culture that places the well-being and improvement of the athlete at the center of every process.
What is and what should be the club's objective at youth sector level?
In short, the football school is aiming for a training model that not only develops the technical skills of young people, but also builds an inclusive and positive environment, where the footballer can grow fully in all aspects of his sporting life.
